While this may be a simple and old design, it works better than any other similar device for opening screw-on tops to bottles and jars that may be stuck on tight. My 78 year-old mother-in-law was impressed by how easy it is to use and how much leverage it gives the operator. Skip the other fancy, high tech, whirlygig jar openers out there and buy this one - it is, for sure, the one that works and lasts, and is the one to have!
